Masakhane Trust

Masakhane Trust is situated on 11 Mispel Street Kosmos Park

Masakane Trust is a non-governmental early childhood development (ECD) training centre which was established in 1989 through the Ntataise farm schools project. It is based in Standerton, Mpumalanga and operates within a 100km radius of the town. Masakane Trust originally began its operations in 1987 on one farm where the teacher was sent for training to Viljoenskroon at Ntataise. Shortly after that more farmers established ECD farm schools and the current director was appointed as senior trainer after attending training at Ntataise.

Later, as families moved off the farms and into rural towns the demand for formal ECD training grew and Masakane Trust had long lists of women wanting to be trained in ECD. Masakane Trust became independent from Ntataise in 1992 and remains an Ntataise Network Member for all these years. The Ntataise Network has enabled Masakane Trust to have access to all of Ntataise’s accredited materials and resources and the director and staff are supported through various training and capacity building workshops.
